“You have not died and gone to hell.” These words, spoken by MSNBC political commentator Rachel Maddow rang true as I sat on the couch at 2 AM on November 8th, 2016. The American people chose to elect businessman Donald J. Trump who ran on a campaign of unsubstantiated claims and scandalous rhetoric that alienated everyone but his ethno-centric base. His campaign promises included a ban on Muslims entering the country, from seven nations in the Middle East. As it stands currently, the ban is being blocked by judges. This ban is not only unconstitutional, it will only serve to radicalize more people and increase the tension between America and the Muslim World. |
